Meet the Consultant

Hi, I’m Angela Byrd, MBA, CEP—and I run this practice solo, on purpose.

I work one-on-one with high school students and their families to make the college admissions process less overwhelming and a lot more personal. I believe every student has a story worth telling—and with the right guidance, they can find the colleges where they’ll truly thrive.

My approach is warm, individualized, and strategic. I help students uncover their strengths, explore their goals, and bring their authentic voice into essays, applications, and interviews. Whether they’re high achievers or still finding their way, I meet them where they are—and help them get where they want to go.

🎓 My Educational Background:
Education has shaped my own path in powerful ways, and I bring that perspective into every coaching relationship:
  • Hampton University – Bachelor of Science in Biology
  • California State University, Dominguez Hills – Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
  • University of Scranton – Master of Business Administration
  • University of California, San Diego – Certificate in College Counseling

🤝 Professional Memberships
I am a Certified Educational Planner and stay current and connected through my involvement in leading professional organizations:
  • American Institute of Certified Educational Planners (AICEP)
  • Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA)
  • Higher Educational Consultants Association (HECA)
  • Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC)
  • Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC)
  • Gap Year Association (GYA)

Whether your student is just starting to think about college or deep into the application season, I’m here to guide, support, and champion them every step of the way. This is personal for me—and it will be personal for your family, too.
